Should Hillary Get Out of the Race?
This is the question that has come up this week from some members of the Democratic Party. After the flap with Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Barack Obama is starting to gain some traction from the endorsement of Governor Bill Richardson. Senator Bob Casey of Pennsylvania made his endorsement of Obama yesterday, and now Senator Pat Leahy has weighed in on the matter on NPR. He says for party unity, Hillary should step down.
I don’t really think she should, but I don’t see what chance she has. Hillary will probably win in Pennsylvania. If she does, and Obama wins North Carolina by the same margin, that would effectively cancel out that victory. According to the math, she would have to win by 60% in all of the remaining contests prior to the end of the primary period (July 1). She would also have to get most of the remaining uncommitted Democratic super delegates. Hillary’s camp has talked about the pledged delegates flipping their votes, or the super delegates voting however they want, however, anything like that would overturn the popular vote in the primaries, and I think that would win over voters like the proverbial turd in a punchbowl.
So the real answer is; if Hillary can’t get a decisive win in the next three to four contests, she should bow out. Courteously.

Pam, I hope you weren’t around when Abe was prez, otherwise, I would suspect you of having a painting of yourself aging in your attic.
You guys . . . : )
As I remember (half watching a tv program last night, not the actual event), Abraham Lincoln was not the most popular candidate, either. It is only March and anything can happen between now and November. I look forward to the soap opera that is ELECTION TIME! (As Your Head Spins)
Yes, I believe The Decider and his DLOTS should learn to use soap on a rope…
With McSame already looking presidentsl, the Resmuglicans already have a head start. This is not good if we want 4 or 8 more years of the US evil empire. The Democrats need to unify, strategize and start to look like they can fix 8 years of Bush and all his evil. Once a Democrat is in office, I look forward to the day when Bush and Cheney are arrested in a country they pissed off (pick one, there are so many), and denied the Geneva convention. Can you say ‘You have a pretty mouth’. I knew that you could.
