Star Trek is The Answer

On September 8, 1966 a little show called Star Trek premiered on NBC television. On September 8, 2008 it will turn 42. Yes, according to Deep Thought, on that date, Star Trek will officially be The Answer to Life, The Universe and Everything.
Also, one of my favorite radio personalities will be getting her own TV show. Starting on September 8, 2008, Rachel Maddow follows Countdown with Keith Olbermann on MSNBC. Yay!

Happy Birthday Star Trek! When I watch it now, I am amazed at how well the technology has worn: desktop monitors, handheld computers, and is that a Bluetooth Spock is sporting?! It is strange to revisit some of the designs and realize how much influence the show had on everyday life.
Yes, on that date 42 years ago, ‘The Man Trap’ premiered on NBC and in 2008 the show goes strong with 4 other series, an animated series, 11 movies, tons of merchandise, even more websites and thousands of clubs and conventions. Long Live Star Trek.I am glad Rachel Maddow is getting her own show. Her guest hosting on ‘Countdown with Keith Olbermann’ is witty and even a touch less snarky than the Keithster. Either way, I am sure it will be a success.
