Well, here is another show devoted to lowering the bar on intelligence in this country. A pay per view seance to try to contact the spirit of the late John Lennon.

This is completely disgusting. Apparently the producer of this show, Paul Sharrat (who made a similar PPV show trying to contact the late Princess Diana) is himself a self avowed skeptic. That said, he also said the Diana broadcast “…made for some great television.” Yeah, that and a half a million viewers ponying up $14.95 a pop to watch doesn’t hurt either.

Just to show you how bankrupt this production is going to be, they are going to various places that John Lennon lived and worked. Like the Capital Records building in Hollywood “where the Beatles recorded.” Shows you how much they know; The Beatles recorded at EMI’s Abbey Road Studio 2. The only thing they may have recorded in Hollywood would have been press conferences. The productiuon is also going to go to India, and visit, I kid you not, “…a spirit reader at an ashram who believes he can contact Lennon to receive musical notes and lyrics from the other side. Any notations received will be flown to Los Angeles, where a composer will arrange the notes, add vocals and backgrounds to produce a new song.” This is pretty fucking tasteless.

I think we may have found something Paul, Ringo and Yoko could agree on. If they or their people do not speak out on this, there is something terribly wrong at work here.
