Satellite TV Out
Posted on August 12th, 2007 by Steve
Well, it happened. DirecTV has gone out and there doesn't seem to be anything I can do about it until a tech can come out on Thursday and look at the system. All of my satellite receivers are searching for a signal. I think it's a) the heat or 2) the dish somehow got knocked completely out of alignment. As long as it gets fixed before the season premiere of "Survivorman" I'm good. More as it comes in.

I never resolved this one here… What happened was that someone hung a vent cover off of the satellite dish’s LNB assembly. This effectively cut off service to our receivers. I am now on Time-Warner cable, not because I necessarily want to be, my service from DirecTV has been 100%, but I now have a 10 MBs cable modem that actually works and everyone in the house has a DVR. They are not as good as TiVO but they work.
